Fray (Job 39:19-25)

Good morning all,

The word of the day is “fray.”  There are a lot of cool scriptures in the Bible that have to do with war.  God has been faithful in the past to go to battle for his people and continues to do so today.  Job knew what it meant to wrestle with God.  He understood that times would be tough. But sometimes life feels like it can be too much to bear, even for a believer.  God had to intervene and let Job know what was up…

“Do you give the horse his strength
or clothe his neck with a flowing mane?
Do you make him leap like a locust,
striking terror with his proud snorting?
He paws fiercely, rejoicing in his strength,
and charges into the fray..."
~Job 39:1-20

Job was inferior to the war horse’s Maker, and did not understand Him. We often times run into battle without thinking of God and the fact that he made everything.  My question is: Do you trust God to lead you into areas of the unknown.  This passage can seem to be a little complicated, but is really simplified to knowing that God is in control.  We can trust him to be our guide and strength. My prayer is that you remember God’s goodness and strengths in your life this week.

Praying for you,

mo
