Pontificate (Psalm 94)

Good morning all,

The word of the day is “pontificate.” I always enjoy reading the Psalms. It seems that no matter how I am feeling I can always go to this collection of writings and gain a ton of wisdom for any situation. In fact, these words have gotten me through some really tough times. I'm sure that many of you can relate. The specific psalm today mentions something about the way that we speak. It is easy to act like we know everything and boast about all of the stuff that we are good at, but when it all comes down to it we should really take a couple of steps back and realize God's authority in our lives.

“They pour out their arrogant words; all the evildoers boast.”
~Ps. 94:4

My question is: what are some of the things that take your attention off of following God? The wicked people in this passage to whom the psalmist refers believe that God pays no attention to their evil deeds. My prayer is that we as Christians are a reason for others to consider following the Savior. Instead of using boastful and senseless words, or pontificating, we should be humble and meek in our approach to spreading the gospel.

Praying for you,

Mo
