Yawp (Ephesians 5:4)

Good morning all,

The word of the day is “yawp.” I've spoken recently at my church concerning the way that Christians ought to conduct themselves. The thing is that this is not a new concern at all. From the inception of the church we saw the need for apostles, pastors, and other leaders to step in and help people understand the way they should live. And, just like each of our moms always told us that we need to watch what we say, so does the Bible instruct us.

Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.
~Eph 5:4

My question is: how do you conduct your speech? What are the words that come out of your mouth? Make no mistake about it. There is always someone looking at you… and listening. You better believe that your words matter to others. And the funny part about it is that it is the non-Christians who remember our words. My prayer this morning is that each of us put aside all yawping, or foolish talk. Your words can be used by God to bring others to a relationship with Jesus Christ. You must only answer that sacred responsibility and call.

Praying for you,

Mall
