Segue (John 6:15-24)

Good morning all,

The word of the day is “segue.”  I figure that many people have heard the story about Jesus walking on water and visiting the disciples in the Sea of Galilee.  What I think is interesting is what happens immediately following that specific moment.  Sometimes we seem to miss things if we skim through certain passages.  Check this out:

“Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.”
~Jn. 6:21

Some people like to say that this is another one of Jesus’ miracles.  I guess what they are implying is that as soon as Jesus comes to the disciples, the ship makes a miraculous trek of a few miles in just moments.  Whether that is the case, or if they received Jesus and immediately segued to the other side… the point I guess is that the disciples did not get to where they were going until Jesus was in the picture.

Here is my question: is Jesus part of your plans?  We need to look toward him and everything that we do because sometimes we think that the way that we do things is the most efficient, when in reality adding Jesus to the equation makes things a little better.   My prayer is that each of you seek the Lord in each of your endeavors and do not hesitate to move through each of life’s situations with the Savior.

Praying for you,

mo
