Beatitude (Matthew 5:1-7)

Good morning all,

The word of the day is “beatitude.” Whether a person is spiritual or not, I would venture to guess that when hearing this word a specific Bible passage comes to mind. This is pretty remarkable, the fact that the Bible has such an impact on people that a specific word can be associated with God's Word. As many of us have read, the Beatitudes are a collection of wisdom sayings that Jesus preached during the Sermon on the Mount.

Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to Him, and He began to teach them, saying…
~Matt. 5:1-2

My question is: what comes to mind when you hear the Beatitudes and read the full Sermon on the Mount? It is very easy for us to read God's word and dismissive rather than ponder the greatness that comes through that word. My prayer this morning is that you look through the Beatitudes, or the declarations of blessedness, and apply them to your life specifically. God has great things in store for you. Look towards him and asked that the Beatitudes be part of your daily living.

Praying for you,

mo
