Utile (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Good morning all,

The word of the day is “utile.”  One of my favorite passages in the Bible is when the apostle Paul is giving instruction to young Timothy.  Paul mentions that all of the words in the Bible are there for a reason.  God had no reason to use more words than possibly needed.  God always knows what needs to be said and how it should be communicated.  When Paul gives this instruction to Timothy he wants to remind the young man of the power of the word of God.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
~2 Tim. 3:16-17

If we know that God’s word is inspired, here is my question: are you using God’s word to its potential. Those powerful words are written for you to impart to others.  My prayer is that each of you gives the utile, or useful, word of God to minister to others.  Who do you need to encourage today?  If you have been encouraged by God’s word, I figured that you might be able to do the same in someone else’s life.

Praying for you,

mo
